NESO appeals to embrace peace and unity in Manipur

North East Students’ Organization (NESO) has appealed to the people of Manipur to embrace peace and unity, setting aside differences and fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
“In light of recent incidents of violence, the NESO recognizes the urgency of addressing the situation and emphasizes that violence is never the solution. The diverse opinions, demands, and issues within the state should be approached through peaceful means, fostering dialogue and understanding among all sections of society”, a statement of the joint students’ bodies from the eight North Eastern States of India said.
The apex students’ body also appealed to all the people of Manipur to shun violence and recognize each other as fellow citizens of the state.
“We firmly believe that through peaceful means, we can address differences, find common ground, and build a harmonious society”, it added.
The press statement signed by NESO Chairman Samuel Jyrwa and Secretary General Mutsikhoyo Yhobu said that the joint students’ body acknowledged the complexities of the issues at hand and encouraged all conflicting communities to recognize and appreciate the efforts of NESO in contributing to peace-building initiatives in Manipur and the broader North East region.
The organization has been actively engaged in fostering understanding, dialogue, and reconciliation, striving to create an atmosphere where diverse communities can coexist in harmony.
As the festive season approaches, the NESO also appeals to every individual to prioritize peace and goodwill. Festivals are times of joy, reflection, and togetherness, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that these celebrations are not marred by violence or discord.
