Need to correct the moral character of Minister Susindro; he should not become a liar: Market Women

Imphal, July 11:

Market women have voiced strong opposition to recent statements made by CAF & PD Minister Susindro, accusing him of disrespecting mothers by calling them liars for stating that the Prime Minister has not spoken on Manipur. Speaking to the press, women from the Khwairamband Keithel Joint Committee for Peace demanded accountability and respect from the minister.
Oinam Bilashini, a vendor at Khwairamband Keithel, expressed her outrage, stating, “One minister called us liars. He is incompetent. Why is he saying that? We will decide in this meeting what action we will take against him.” Nameirakpam Aruni, another market woman, highlighted the collective discontent, saying, “Minister Susindro thinks that we do nothing. He should not speak such things again. Who is he to call us liars?” Furthermore, Bimola Devi, another vendor, added, “He should not target women. He is a minister; he should know better.”
Laishram Mema of the Khwairamband Keithel Joint Coordination Committee for Peace accused Minister Susindro of disrespecting women and mothers. She said, “We have submitted many memoranda, but nothing comes out of it. No action gets taken. So why is the minister again and again highlighting the memorandum submitted by Kuki to Rahul Gandhi? Did Rahul Gandhi announce that what is submitted as a memorandum to him by Kuki will be converted to action?”
She urged that “do not play politics. We want a good party to be in power, be it BJP or Congress.”
The women further criticized Minister Susindro saying that the government is taking sides and playing politics at the expense of the people.
Laishram Mema stated, “If this continues, we will expose what the Manipur government and Government of India is doing. We know what sort of strategy they are applying in Manipur. Moreover, if the PM does not want to speak, then we will make sure that he speaks if this continues.”
Talking about Minister Susindro, Laishram Mema further stated, “He has no respect for women and mothers. That’s why we have come out to speak. We have to correct his moral character. He thinks that media can be bought. Who is the media that can be bought? Is there a personal media belonging to him? We need to know who they are.”
The response came after Minister Susindro’s comment that allegations about the Prime Minister’s silence on Manipur have been spread on social media using money.
Laishram Mema further stated, “We descended from women who expelled the British from Manipur. We have fought for Manipur, and we will not stay quiet. The PM never said that he is there and that nothing will happen to the integrity of Manipur, so it means he did not say anything. Narco-terrorists are attacking us, but he has not said anything. Why are they allowing it? The minister should answer all these things. He should clarify. We are asking him not to become a lying man.”
The women have called on the cabinet to address Minister Susindro’s behavior. “We appeal that the minister should not say anything embarrassing. Moreover, it is embarrassing that we have elected such uneducated people, so we are raising our voice. The cabinet should call him and take him to task.”
