NE to get 22 more new ITIs

Imphal, May 5: Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has formulated a scheme titled “Enhancing skill development infrastructure in NE States and Sikkim” to set up 22 new ITIs in the North Eastern region. The officials here today said out of the 22 new ITIs, five have been allocated to the State of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh will have four ITIs, Tripura and Mizoram will have three each, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya will have two each and Sikkim will have one ITI. The officials said that two ITIs were covered under up-gradation and five ITIs under Supplementing Deficient Infrastructure in Nagaland. An amount of Rs. 1149.47 lakh has been released for this purpose to the respective state governments.
