Nara reacts to state health dept, says homeopathy medicine effective for swine flu

Reacting to the statement made by the Joint Director of State Medical Directorate, Dr. M. Nara today said that the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy had proven that ‘Arsenic 30’ is a preventive medicine of Swine Flu influenza.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press club, Dr. M. Nara said that both the allopathic and homeopathy are different departments under different ministries and the claim made by the Joint Director of State Medical Directorate has no etiquette. Joint Director of State Medical Directorate Dr. Sashikumar yesterday said that Homeopathy medicines are no cure for swine flu.
Nara said that the statement could create worrisome to the people of the state wherein the state is in a pandemic situation and he appealed the Chief Minister of the state to intervene in the matter. He clarified that the medicine ‘Arsenic Album 30’ has been proven to be a preventive medicine of Swine Flu influenza by Central Council for Research in Homeopathy and the Indian government had recommended to use the same on National papers. Talking about the effectiveness of the homeopathic medicine, Nara said that Homeopathy remained successful in battling against any influenza since 19th century comparing to allopathic medicines. He recommended everyone including children, pregnant women, old age people, etc, to take the medicine which also has no side effect. He further appealed not to take advantage by some vested interested traders by selling the medicine at high price.

Important : Dr Nara and any other who are claiming the same effectiveness of this medicine have a professional obligation to share Datas or papers that showed the research and trial that has shown its 'preventive' results . But Can this AYUSH , Arsenic A 30 which has been presented as one that can prevent swine flu and currently distributed to the public , cause increase death when infected with swine flu? I sincerely hope until the company behind this homeopathic medicine shows reliable research with statistically and clinically convincing results , the advertisement , the claims and distribution of the drug should be stopped. I really hope the health department steps into all this random acts of intervention and a more systematic and one that adhere to WHO guideline ensues. and there has been instances of arsenic poisoning after taking homeopathic drugs made in India !! But one of the most concerning thing is the possibility of ingestion of minute amount of arsenic and decrease immune response to flu virus infection.
