Ukhrul, Jan 18:

In a historic milestone for the Nagalim sovereignty movement, the Naga New Year was celebrated on Wednesday in Homilin, Myanmar, with profound emotional sentiment, unity, and festive grandeur. Organized by the South-East Command of the Naga Army under the guidance of Longvibu (Commander-in-Chief) of the Naga Army, the event marked a powerful display of brotherhood among Naga communities and their allies.
The celebration featured a wide range of activities, including friendly sports matches like volleyball and football, Naga indigenous games, and cultural dance performances. Significantly, these events saw participation from not just the Naga Army but also Shan, Chin, and Burmese communities, with several top Myanmar officials joining the festivities. This cross-cultural camaraderie underscored the growing bonds among diverse groups under the unifying vision of Nagalim.
Homilin, an ancestral Naga land, has reportedly come under the full control of the South-East Command of the Naga Army. The press release emphasized that this achievement symbolizes a reclamation of their heritage and a significant stride in the larger goal of Nagalim’s sovereignty.
Expanding Influence
Under the visionary leadership of Longvibu, the Naga Army’s Mount Veda Peace Mission Command, led by Brigadier Eno. Kongyak and Col. Apem, has expanded its control over key regions, including Lahey district, Namyung, and Khampti district near Kachin State in Myanmar. Simultaneously, Brigadier Sorei, Col. Eno. Amung, and Col. Eno. Anthony have strengthened their foothold in Tamu, Mintha, and Homilin districts. These efforts are overseen by Brigadier Eno. J. Siro, whose strategic prowess has fostered connectivity and collaboration with Eastern Naga communities, bridging a long-standing gap in relationships.
A Spiritual Mission
The press statement expressed heartfelt gratitude to Almighty Lord Jesus, attributing the Naga Army’s achievements to divine guidance. The leadership emphasized that their missions, often deemed impossible, have been successful due to unwavering faith and trust in God. “With God at the center, we march forward unitedly, overcoming every obstacle,” the statement read, echoing the slogan, “Nagalim for Christ.”
Rebuilding Trust and Unity
The celebration also marked the restoration of trust among Naga brethren, a long-standing issue that had hindered their progress. According to the press release, this newfound unity has eliminated past divisions, allowing the Naga Army to advance with renewed strength and focus. “We now move forward without hindrance, united as one people under one cause,” it declared.
A Bright Future Ahead
The event’s success was hailed as evidence of a brighter future for the Naga Nation. The ability to freely and peacefully organize the Naga New Year on ancestral land was seen as a testament to their progress and determination. “There is light at the end of the tunnel,” the statement added, expressing hope that the aspirations of the Naga people for sovereignty will soon become a reality.
As the Naga flag fluttered high amidst celebrations, the gathering concluded with the slogan “Kuknalim,” signifying victory and hope for the Naga Nation. The celebration in Homilin stands as a symbol of resilience, unity, and a step closer to realizing the dream of Nagalim.
