Manipur Peoples’ Party and Janata Dal (U) today urged the government to punished the police inspector who had brutally assaulted a girl student in front of New Secretariat office yesterday afternoon.
In a press meet held today at their respective offices both the president of the political parties said that the picture of the police officer assaulting a protestor girl student was caught in the camera and government need not wait for evidences.
President of JD(U) N Tombi said that he will take the matter to the parliament. He said he will seek assistant not only from his party leader but also from other leaders of the parties which his party has been going along with.
MPP President Sovakiran said that government should immediately terminate the police officer who had assaulted the girl student in broad day light. He asked if there is any such word as law and order in the state if the situation continues.
