A delegation of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), led by President Keisham Meghachandra Singh and Surjakumar Okram, MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency, extended warm greetings and a message of love and unity to Haj pilgrims from Manipur at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal today.
The Congress team gathered at the airport to bid farewell to the Muslim pilgrims embarking on their sacred journey to Mecca, offering words of encouragement, blessings, and solidarity on behalf of the party.
The delegation included key members of the MPCC Minority Department such as Md Amir Hussain, General Secretary, MPCC; Md Wahidur Rahman, General Secretary, MPCC; Md Siraj Ahmed, General Secretary, MPCC; Md Zakir Hussain, Chairman of the Minority Department, MPCC; Md Tajuddin Shah, Vice President, MPYCC; Md Basir Ahmed, General Secretary, Thoubal DCC; Alhaj Kiramat Ali, President, Wangkhem BCC; and Md Emamuddin Shah, President, Lilong BCC, among others.
On the occasion, MPCC President Meghachandra Singh emphasized the importance of religious harmony and respect for all faiths, stating that the Congress party will always stand with the people in celebrating and supporting religious and cultural values.
In a special gesture, the Minority Department of MPCC, under the leadership of its Chairman Md Y. Zakir Hussain, deployed volunteers to assist the pilgrims during their departure process at the airport. The team provided guidance, support, and essential services to ensure a smooth and respectful send-off for the Haj pilgrims.
