MPCC observes Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel and Death Anniversary of Indira Gandhi

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today observed the 149th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the 40th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Congress Bhawan, B.T. Road, Imphal. The event brought together Congress leaders, party members, and supporters to pay homage to the legacy of these two prominent figures in India’s history.
The function was presided over by MPCC President K. Meghachandra Singh, with O. Ibobi Singh, the CLP Leader in Manipur, attending as Chief Guest, and Gaikhangam, a CWC Member, as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries, including MPs, MLAs, former presidents of MPCC, and senior party leaders, gathered to honor the “Iron Man of India” and the “Iron Lady of India.”
During the event, floral tributes were offered to portraits of Sardar Patel and Indira Gandhi. In his address, Gaikhangam highlighted the leadership qualities of both figures, emphasizing their dedication and sacrifices for the nation. He remarked that leaders like Patel and Gandhi were instrumental in shaping India, with Patel known for his steadfastness in unifying the country and Gandhi for her strength and commitment, ultimately sacrificing her life for the nation. Gaikhangam expressed that the country needs leaders with similar resolve and vision in today’s times.
