Imphal, April 23: BJP MLA Khumukcham Joykishan today lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Manipuri Boxer Mary Kom for the post of Rajya Sabha member by his government. The BJP MLA said that the nomination of MC Mary Kom is a clear indication of the love and care of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Manipur.
While expressing his heartiest gratitude to the Prime Minister for his government choice of picking somebody from the state Joykishan said BJP lead government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed that the BJP government care a lot towards the North Eastern region especially Manipur.
“This is the first time that an eminent woman from the entire North eastern region has been nominated as an MP from the region. This happen only in the time of BJP led government under the Prime Minister narendra Modi”, Joykishan said.
He further added that even though there are many sports start who may be more qualified from Mary Kom, Narendra Modi had shown his love and care for NE region by nominating Mary Kom for the post of Rajya Sabha MP.
MLA Joykishan also congratulated 5 times world Boxing Champion Mary on her becoming as the new Rajya MP.
