Meitei Pangal body warns agitation demanding action against police personnel

Popular Front of India, Manipur State warns serious form of agitation against the government failure to award befitting punishment to the four police personnel who had allegedly assaulted and looted a Meitei Pangal trader on October 21 last year.
In a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club today afternoon, Media-in-charge of the Front, Benjamin M Shah said that the front had submitted memorandums time and again to the concern government authority pleading appropriate action against the police personnel involved to the assault and looting of local trader Md. Atwar Rahman.
The four police personnel allegedly looted a sum of Rs 6 lakhs after assaulting him to near dead. Atwar miraculously survive the deadly assault.
“It is six months now and the concern authority has not taken up any appropriate action against the 4 police personnel”, said Benjamin M Shah. He further added that the attitude of the government is discriminatory towards minority Meitei pangal group.
