Meitei Huiyen Langlon Sintam Sanglen holds ritual ceremony at Jaribond, Assam

The Meitei Huiyen Langlon Sintam Sanglen Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) Far West Headquarters No. 5, Leihoupokpi, Jaribond, Hailakandi, Assam, conducted a ritual ceremony today in honor of Taibangjam Ima Laikhurembi of Lawat, Jaribond, Hailakandi, Assam. The ceremony, held as part of Meitei Malem Tengbangba, was conducted with religious offerings and traditional prayers.
A large number of people gathered at the site to offer their respects and seek blessings. Alongside the religious rites, traditional Meitei dance and martial art performances were also showcased in honor of Ima Laikhurembi.
Following the ceremony, Lourembam Joykanta, Secretary of Information & Publicity, UFO Far West HQ No. 5, announced that a grand cultural and religious event would be organized on February 21, starting at 7 AM and continuing till 4 PM. This event, to be held at Jaribond Leipak, aims to preserve and promote Meitei traditions and strengthen the unity of Meitei people residing in Assam, Manipur, and Tripura.
The organization urged Meitei people to come together, uphold their identity, and stand united in the face of challenges. The event was marked by religious chanting and contributions from the local community, signifying a collective commitment to Meitei heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Senjam Sarat, President of Meitei Huiyen Langlon Sintam Sanglen Ngamupat Masa, Hailakandi, Assam, stated that the event would reinforce the Meitei community’s cultural and historical ties across Assam, Manipur, and Tripura. He emphasized the need for unity among Meiteis, including those residing in Bangladesh, to preserve their identity and traditions.
