MEEU observes 48th Annual General Body Meeting

Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union (MEEU) today observed its 48th Annual General Body Meeting  at Lamyanba Shanglen, Imphal.
The Annual General Body Meeting was attended by Dr. Khumukcham Ratankumar Singh, Minister, Works and Transport, Z. Kikhonbou Newmai, Vice-Chairman, Hill Areas Committee, Manipur and working president of INTUC, Manipur Branch and Elangbam Dolendra Singh, Senior Vice-President, INTUC, Manipur Branch, R. Sudhan, IAS, Managing Director, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd. and Th. Kirankumar Singh, Joint Secretary (power), Government of Manipur as chief guest, president and guests of honor respectively.
Observation of two minutes condolence to the departed souls of 12 employees of Electricity and presentation of gifts to 47 retired employees of the department were the salient feature of the observance.
While delivering the report of Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union, N. Rajen, General Secretary of Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union, demanded to regularize the 318 work charge employees of Electricity Department. He said that the Union has been demanding this since the last few years. If the government fails to fulfill the demand, the Union is ready to launch cease work strike from 31st March.
