Manipur University signs MoU with ETCPL

Manipur University (MU), Canchipur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt Ltd (ETCPL), Imphal today at Imphal, Manipur, marking a significant step towards fostering skill enhancement and training programmes for students, enhancing of their employability skills in job market.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Th. Binoy Singh, Registrar (in-charge), Manipur University (MU) and Sentirenla Longkumer, Centre Director, ETCPL with an aim to foster skill development, provide vocational training programmes, internships and placements for students, facilitate study materials, provide infrastructure and support for conducting various mobilization programmes, and campus recruitment drives, which will mutually benefit both the institutions.
With an emphasis on the significance of collaborative initiatives, Sentirenla Longkumer, Centre Director, ETCPL, highlighted the importance of imparting National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned placement linked skill development training in aviation, tourism, hospitality and other customer service sectors. She stressed on its aim to produce trained and skilled professionals, particularly youth in Manipur, equipped with latest knowledge and professional skills, which are required to deliver world-class services to the clients in today’s rapidly growing customer service sectors.
During the signing event, Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, MU, expressed that with the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the university is keen in providing employability skills and knowledge among the students, emphasising the importance of mutual cooperation in providing training and skill development programmes for students, aligned with the philosophy of the new education policy.
The signing event was also attended by Anirban Mukherjee, Operations Manager, ETCPL and his team; Prof. A. Rajmani Singha, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MU and Dr. Nambram Amulkumar, Head, Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development (DVSSD), School of Social Sciences, MU.
The partnership between MU and ETCPL is expected to foster skill development and vocational training for students, creating new job opportunities and various job roles including hospitality, customer service and retail, accelerating employment, and reinforcing Manipur University’s commitment to academic excellence and students’ welfare.
