Manipur to host International Tourism Mart

Imphal, Aug 4: Ministry of Tourism Government of India has chosen Manipur to host the 5TH International Tourism Mart for the North East Region to be held from 23rd to 25th November, 2016 with the objective to showcase the rich tourism potential of the North Eastern region in the domestic and international markets.
Speaking to the media person during the interaction programme held that DIPR premise the Nidhi Mani Tripathi, IAS Secretary Department of Tourism Government of Manipur said that during the International Tourism Mart department of tourism has decided to invite 3 delegates from each form the 35 countries which are including from United Kingdom, Thailand, Australia, Singapore, Germany, Russia, and Switzerland.
She further added that in the vision to develop the tourism infrastructure with aesthetics the department of tourism with the central financial assistance under Swadesh Darshan Scheme from Ministry of Tourism is taking up major work like rejuvenation of infrastructure, light and sound show, Polo gallery, Exhibition Park, Tourist facilitation centre at Kangla Fort. And also the tourism department has been implementing various projects sanctioned by ministry of tourism and north eastern council.
The development of tourism infrastructure is bing taken up in a big way for the Khongjom war Memorial complex and Moreh, Loktak Lake and Sendra for the construction of resort and cottages.
