Manipur Maoist claims attack

Imphal, Feb 6: Maoist Communist Party Manipur, today claims responsibility to the attack on Indian army camp at Sagolmang area in Imphal East on the adjoining night of February 4 and February 5. A statement of the outfit said that the armed cadres of the Maoist Communist Party Manipur has been launching operation to strike at those armed group ensuing suspension of operation with the government, who were responsible of killing of two workers recently. It further added that the cadres has been conducting operation at various places including Ukhrul district and Saikul area. It said on the adjoining night of Feb 4 and 5 some armed cadres, ensuing SoO with the government were reported to have been present at Saikul area and following that the cadres of Maoist Communist Party rushed the site. But later it was came to know that the cadres had fled the area and took refuge inside the camp of Indian army located at Sagolmang in Imphal east. The statement said that the cadres fires some round of gunshots and return back as they have not prepared to attack the Indian army post. Moreover, bark wire were seen fencing at the paddy field which lies next to the Indian army pist so could not strike more, the statement added. On the other hand the Indian army too tried to find the position of the Maoist cadres using flash light, the statement added.
