Lions Clubs Manipur extends relief to flood-affected people

In a major humanitarian effort, the Lions Clubs of the Manipur region carried out a large-scale flood relief operation in Imphal East, reaching over 1,900 individuals affected by the recent floods. The initiative was part of the organisation’s commitment to its global motto, “We Serve.”
According to the organisers, the relief drive was conducted across six severely affected localities — Yuvraj Palli Ucheckon, Bashikhong Meira Club, Bashikhong Torban Leikai Community Hall, Eastern Students Club Nongmeibung, SYAC Club Soibam Leikai Porompat, Kongpal Mutum Leikai Kshetrigao, and Kongpal Chanam Leikai — with beneficiaries in each location ranging from 100 to 400 people.
The relief materials included 60 bags of rice, 20 bags of potatoes, 1,500 kilograms of salt, 1,800 soaps, and drinking water, along with other hygiene items. The distribution was carried out with coordinated efforts from various local Lions Clubs.
District Governor Ln. Th. Kesho Singh stated that the initiative was not just a response to disaster but a message of hope and solidarity. GST Coordinator M. Shyambabu said the Lions network remains committed to supporting communities in times of need. Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely support.
