Linthoingambi’s Mother refutes online narratives

In the wake of rampant social media rumors that led to a surge of visitors at the residence of the late Linthoingambi Hijam, her mother, Jayashree, held a press conference to debunk the false narratives.

Jayashree recounted that an anxious woman had contacted her, expressing concern that her own daughter hadn’t eaten for three days, deeply affected by Linthoingambi’s demise. Out of worry, Jayashree decided to visit the distraught girl. Upon her arrival, the young girl expressed a desire to share a meal with both Jayashree and Linthoingambi’s father. The family obliged, and after the meal, the girl returned to her home.
Addressing the rapid spread of baseless rumors the previous evening, Jayashree firmly stated that none of the whispered tales were true. She expressed gratitude to the community for their continued support during these challenging times and called on the government to ensure the timely return of the bodies of the two students.
