The Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (State Climate Change Cell, Manipur) has extended the last date for submitting the applications from the journalists of Manipur for the 5th State Level Media Fellowship Programme on Climate Change reporting for the period of one year.
So the applications along with the latest CV, two passport size photographs  and a letter of endorsement from the Editor mentioning that the output under the fellowship programme will be published/telecast in the concerned newspaper/electronic media, are to be submitted physically during hours to the Director, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, Porompat, Imphal by April 18, 2024 (4.30pm) or via e-mail (environmentmanipur@gmail.com).
It may be mentioned that the theme of the fellowship programme will be on Climate Change Reporting with the Sub themes- ‘Health and Climate Change’, ‘Agriculture & allied and Climate Change’, and ‘Water Resources and Climate Change’ respectively. The fellows can apply two times consecutively while those fellows who have received the award twice can however apply again after one year break.
A total of 10 fellowships in 4 categories will be awarded across the state, as ‘Open Category for print media reporter’, ‘Open category for electronic media reporter’, ‘Women Journalist category for print media reporter’, ‘Hill Journalist category for print media reporter.’
The applicants should have not less than a year’s experience in Journalism and Media reporting. The fellowship reward will be of Rs 50,000 per fellowship (in three installments) along with citation, the notice said. The selected journalists will have the opportunities during fellowship period such as interstate exposure visit and capacity building.
