Imphal, March 7:

The Kuki Students’ Organisation, Delhi & NCR (KSOD&NCR), has strongly condemned the upcoming Joint Press Conference of the Meitei Alliance and Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM), scheduled for March 7, 2025, at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, New Delhi. The student body, in a press statement, asserted that the event lacks legitimacy and the authority to determine the future of the Kuki people under the pretext of restoring peace in Manipur.
KSOD&NCR accused TIM of being a fringe organization that promotes division within the Kuki community and alleged that it operates under vested interests that do not align with the welfare of the Thadou tribe. The statement also claimed that TIM has deviated from its foundational commitments and realigned itself with external entities for self-interest.
Calling for justice, KSOD&NCR reiterated the demand for a Union Territory with Legislature under Article 239A, as per Article 3 of the Indian Constitution, which it termed as a fundamental requirement for lasting stability. The organization warned that any resolution or negotiation regarding the future of the Kuki people must be decided solely by the Kuki community, rejecting external interference.
