JNIMS to resume healthcare and academic services from June 16 following flood disruption

The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal, announced that it would resume both healthcare and academic activities from June 16, 2025, after a temporary suspension caused by severe flooding earlier this month.
According to a press statement issued by the institute, healthcare services at JNIMS Hospital, including emergency operations, will restart from June 16. The institution had faced a complete shutdown of services after floodwaters inundated the campus from June 2. While emergency services are set to resume immediately, efforts are ongoing to restore routine surgeries (Routine OT) as soon as possible.
In addition to healthcare services, regular academic classes for undergraduate (MBBS and BDS) students and postgraduate (PG) trainees are also scheduled to recommence on the same date.
The institute expressed gratitude to its staff, students, and all stakeholders who supported the restoration process during this difficult phase. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality healthcare and medical education to the people of Manipur.
