JNIMS’ doctors protest dumping of dead body to doctor’s residence

Imphal, July 19: Protesting the dumping of the dead body of a lady who died while delivery case in the hospital to the residence of Dr. Bidhumukhi and vandalized of hospital property by the said patient party doctors of JNIMS today went on cease work strike for 48 hours since 8 am today morning. Following the cease work strike the hospital bore deserted look with no doctors attending any patient including those in the wards. Some serious patient which were already undergoing treatment in the hospital wards were relieve from the cease work strike.The cease work strike was called after the doctors held an emergency general body meeting on Friday at around 2.30 pm. Today at around 12.30 pm a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister condemning the action taken by JAC against the death of Leimapokpam Roma Devi.Professor, T. Rajen, Vice President, JNIMS Teachers’ Association said to media persons that the association highly condemned the intimidate actions taken up by JAC. The action was inhuman and the so called JAC had vandalized properties of the Hospital which will cost around 2 lakhs to fix it, said Rajen. He further said the association has appealed the Chief Minister to provide high level securities to protect the doctors of the Hospital.
