JCB driver freed from captive

Imphal, May 11: 23 year-old Kh Tontonba Singh, s/o Th Kwaklei of Pukhao Naharup Awang Leikai, who has been missing since May 3, has been freed by his kidnapper yesterday from Luigam Village of Churachandpur distric.
Tontonba told the media person in a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club that he is a JCB driver and working at Luigam village PMGSY works. He had been kidnapped from the work shed by 5 (five) armed personnel in the mid-night of May 3 in connection with the monetary demand of 70 lakhs from the contractor.
He further added they never beat him during their custody and yesterday they freed him at around 11 am between Churachandpur town and Kongpan.
Convenor of the JAC against the forced abduction of Kh Tontonba, Okram Saratchandra during the press meet condemned the abduction of innocent people for no reason and he also appealed all the armed group not to repeat such incident that might disturb the peaceful co-existence among the various communities in the state.
