JAC seeks investigation into death of youth at De-Addiction Centre

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the death of 21-year-old Sanasam Jackson Singh has demanded a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.
A protest demonstration followed by a public meeting was held to raise concerns over what the JAC described as a suspicious death. The young man was discovered hanging on June 11 at Itinpham, a recently established rehabilitation centre located at Narankonjil Makha Leikai. The incident has triggered widespread outrage and alarm among local residents and the bereaved family.
Expressing strong dissatisfaction with the unclear circumstances of the death, the JAC urged the government to initiate a prompt and transparent inquiry. It also appealed to the authorities to ensure accountability and prevent similar tragedies in institutions designed to offer recovery and care.
