JAC demands justice for accident victim

Imphal, Oct 10: JAC against the killing of Heikrujam Thoiba demanded to provide justice to the victim’s family.

On 30th September at around 07.00 pm Heikrujam Thoiba (48), s/o. H. (late) Jugeshore of Ningthoukhong Mamang, Ward no. 7, who was driving a bicycle to run errand at Ghari Lamkhai Tiddim Road was knocked down by a passenger vehicle, Tata Winger. Passersby and the locals took Thoiba to RIMS hospital but the driver of the Tata Winger drove away. Thoiba was then referred to Raj Polycinic Hospital and later in the intervening night Thoiba passed away.

Speaking to media persons today, convenor of the JAC, R.K. Tombisana said the victim was a poor man and has got five daughters. So far there is no response from the police about the incident. She further said before the upcoming Shradha the culprit must be produced.
