Imphal, June 22: Joint Action Committee Against the Announcement of Wanted JCILPS Leader Kh Ratan and on Implementation of ILPS Singjamei Wangma Imphal has appealed all to extend support to its proposed 48-hour Manipur bandh from 23 June, 2016.
A statement signed by Convenor of the JAC, Th Subhachandra said that the bandh has been called in protest against the announcement of Ratan as wanted by the state government. It is a ploy of the government to suppress the ILPS movement.
The Convenor also reiterated the three demands of the JAC- lifting of wanted tag labelled against Kh Ratan; revoking of FIR against Kh Ratan and immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
People need to stand firm against the state government’s manoeuvre to sabotage the movement for protection of indigenous people, else the people’s demand for implementation of ILPS and related movement would be hold back forever, Subhachandra said.
People and services related with media, emergency, religious and medical would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Meanwhile demand for the implementation of ILPS in the state has been underway at different places.
