Imphal, June 22:

Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Tengnoupal Police Station for its failure to arrest a child rapist namely Charanga Koyaingam of Lamlong Khullen Village of Machi Sub-Div since the commissioning of the crime on the 12th of May, 2021 at around 6:30 pm.

A statement of the forum said that a written complaint was submitted on the 15th of May, 2021 by the eldest sister of the victim mentioning that her younger sister was raped by the said accused person at his residence  and requested the police to take up legal action. Concerning the same FIR was lodged, however, the said accused person is yet to be arrested till date.

It has been more than 37 days, the accused person is roaming scot free and the Tengnoupal Police Station is not able to arrest the said accused person which is very unfortunate.

The Forum urged the Manipur State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, DGP and CWC Tengnoupal District to make an urgent intervention to arrest the accused person at the earliest.

Manipuri actor and model Sushanta Rajkumar popularly known as R.K Sushant has organised the 2nd round of vaccination camp for Northeast Indians residing in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali concluding the vaccination drive on 20th June 2021 with 200+ people getting vaccinated in total. The 2nd vaccination camp which had a turnout of 175 people was arranged as promised during the launch of the vaccination drive, for the people who have missed the 1st vaccination camp that was organised on 30th May 2021(Sunday) where 40 people from various parts of Northeast India were vaccinated.  
For the convenience of the people who had reached out to him for the vaccination, the actor had also arranged a bus service from his residence in Chandigarh to the vaccination site in Zirakpur, Punjab. The vaccination was organised at Zirakpurwhich had a better facility where all the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) could be strictly followed during the vaccination. 
“Being healthy and safe during this pandemic is the top priority for everyone. However, what about those staying away from home for work and studies? Their families are equally concerned about their health and safety too but when you are in a different place and environment you become helpless. And that is why I took up the initiative to start this vaccination drive for people from Northeast India staying in and around Chandigarh but have not been able to get vaccinated yet. I believe this is the least I can do for all the love and support the people from the region has given me,” said Sushanta on the vaccination drive. 
He further added, “I am considering the rollout of such vaccination camps across major cities in India where Northeast Indians reside. We are still monitoring the responses and will take a call basis the requirement after consulting experts to ensure that the best support can be given to the people from the region.”
Covid-19 vaccination drive for people of Northeast India in Punjab was initiated by the actor who also runs a foundation called Pink Foundation after he learned about many Northeast Indians in Punjab struggling to get vaccinated from his fans and followers. 
The vaccination drive was supported by team doctors and medical professionals from the Punjab Health Department. The two-phased vaccination drive has successfully inoculated 215 people in total who had contacted the actor from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim in Northeast India. This second vaccination camp will conclude the vaccination drive in Punjab.

It happens and there is nothing to be surprise of, wife of late Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu – who was elected 3 times from Lamsang Assembly constituency , and had even served the government at the capacity of Minister, Wangkheimayum Ongbi Sumati Devi is contesting in the forthcoming state assembly election. Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu died due to Covid-19.

According to a report Sumati , wife of Brajabidhu will be contesting as a Congress candidate. The Lamsang Block Congress Committee had already taken a resolution to choose Wangkheimayum Ongbi Sumati Devi as their candidate.

President of the Lamsang Block Congress Committee, Yumkhaibam Kumarjit said that the decision to nominate Wangkheimayum Ongbi Sumati Devi as a congress candidate in the upcoming election was taken after a meeting which was attended by congress representatives from all the 49 polling station of Lamsang Assembly constituency.

A statement by Indian Medical Association, Manipur state Branch said that about 700 doctors in the country, including 6 doctors from our state have died during the second wave of COVID pandemic.
However, the healthcare workers across the state and the country work tirelessly to mitigate the disaster and serve humanity, it added.
The IMA expressed dissatisfaction to unfortunate incident of violence at the COVID workplaces, that are reported from time to time even during this critical hour.
“The recent incident of violence at JNIMS ICU is deplorable. The IMA state branch demanded to enforce Central Hospital and Healthcare Professional Protection Act with IPC & CrPC tag and to declare Hospital as declared as a protected zone. It also urged to punish culprits under fast-track mode with stringent punishment.
The IMA Manipur State Branch said that they will observe the 18th of June, 2021 as a part of the IMA National Protest Day with the object to “stop assault on profession and professionals” with the slogan “SAVE THE SAVIORS”.
