MP Dr. Ranjan emphasis the significance of celebrating Ningol Chakkouba

MP of the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr. RK Ranjan stressed on the significance of Ningol Chakouba Festival today.

Ningol Chakkouba – is the festival of reunion of Family members, Dr. Ranjan said while attending the celebration at Goakhal of Borobekra Sub Division of Jiribam District. Ningols (Married sisters) of Bishnupriya and Meetei attended the programme organised by Goakhal Farmers’ Club. 

Speaking at the programme, MP Dr. RK Ranjan Singh said once the Maharaja’s of Manipur invited their Married Sisters and relatives for feast at their parental family but nowadays many communities also have started to celebrate it as it emphasis the importance of happiness and reunion of family. He added, the Ningols have brought many things which show the United strength of Manipur. He also sought the blessing of Ningol so that it will encourage and help to protect and also to keep the State intact.

Thereafter, the women who attended the celebration were served with lunch and gifts were presented. The celebration also acts as a platform for increasing mutual trust and confidence among the communities.

Local MLA Md, Ashab Uddin, Adhyakshya Jiribam  K. Janaki Devi, Ex- Minister, Jiribam A. Biren singh, Mayanglambam Rajkumar singh, DC, Jiribam, M. Mubi Singh, SP, Jiribam District Police and L. Veerjeet Singh, BJP Protocol officer and Media Advisor to President graced the programme as dignitaries.

5 shops gutted in Lalpani bazaar fire; locals express dissatisfaction on the late arrival of fire tender

At least 5 shops and all the goods inside them have been gutted in a devastating fire that broke out last night at Lalpani bazaar of Jiribam District which falls 6km from the zero point of Jiribam towards the southern side.

According to report culled from the site of the fire, it broke out at around 10 p.m last night and it was suspected that the fire may be ignited from the tea stall. Tea stall, Hardware store, clothes stores and grocery shop were among the 5 shops that have been gutted.

Speaking with the media person, the Lalpani Bazaar Committee Secretary Md. Jamal Hussain said the fire broke out at around 10pm. Immediately they reported to the Fire service department of Jiribam but due to delay of fire tender arrival in the spot it was not able to save the shops which is very unfortunate.

He also appealed to the concern authority to take up rapid action when such unnatural devastating fire broke out in future so that it might save the properties of people.

Later, to combat the fire along with three fires tender, it took 3 hours to put out the fire and prevent it from further spreading. Though the exact loss in the fire has not yet been worked out, the loss is estimated to be lakhs of rupees.

Drug Peddler nabbed

A team of Kakching Police chase and nabbed a drug peddler from Pallel area at around 4.30 pm yesterday. Police said the person tried to escape at his motor bike after he showed them frisking  at Sora area. As per police source the motorist threw a bag carried by him and  taking advantage of the crowd , he escaped towards unknown locations in Pallel Bazar. On checking the bag under due procedure, the bag contained 15 soap cases of heroin number 4 weighing 210 gms, and 908 gms of Opium (Kani) was recovered. 
On further checking the bag contains one Aadhar Card in the name of T. Mangsat Haokip (19) s/o T Khuplet Haokip of K Savumpa village, Chandel Dist. A case under FIR No. 89(11)2019 KCG PS was registered, the police source said.

Warm welcome accorded to MP Dr RK Ranjan at Jiribam

MP Inner Parliamentary Manipur, Dr RK Ranjan Singh was accorded warm welcome in a simple function organized by Progressive Meitei Pangal Society (PMPS),Jiribam, Meitei Pangal Women Development Welfare Association (WPWDWA), Jiribam and Oriental Club, Babupara today at Jiribam District. 

The reception programme was attended by MP Dr RK Ranjan Singh, Local MLA  Md. Ashab Uddin, DC Jiribam Mayanglambam Rajkumar,  Superintendent of Police, Jiribam District Mubi Moirangthem and L. Veerjeet Singh,  Protocol Officer and Media Advisor to President as dignitaries.

The PMPS, MPWDWA and Oriental Club volunteers honoured the MP with simple gifts. 

On the speech, the MP Dr. RK Ranjan Singh said Jiribam is a District where different community’s people are inhabited. He added, we need to respect and honour each other as well as to protect the State from illegal infiltration and migration. He also assured to extend all possible assistance for the educational development of women in the Pangal Society.

Thereafter, local MLA of Jiribam Assembly Constituency Md Ashab Uddin applauded and honoured the MP for visiting Jiribam. He assured that he will follow up the advice of MP for the development of Jiribam District.
