Imphal, Oct 3: With the ensuing peace talk between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India nearing to find a conclusion after the signing of the frame work agreement on August 3 , 2015, the NSCN-IM gearing up its campaign to consolidate the Naga Stakeholders particularly at Nagaland and Manipur.
As reported at Nagaland based newspaper the NSCN-IM had held consultative meet with the Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) and its units comprising of 10 units and 1 sub-unit on Monday at the Council Hall, Purana Bazaar Dimapur.
Here in the state, the UNC, the frontal body is taking the lead role in making the dream of the NSCN-IM successful. The UNC had even threatened 48 hours total shutdown from Sunday Midnight if the MHA and the state government fails to put their stand on the demand for review of the new district creation by former government.
However, the matter has been cool down after the MHA intimated the UNC and fix next round of tripartite talk.
Earlier, NSCN-IM leaders had reportedly meet representatives of various leaders of the rebel groups of Nagaland including NSCN-K. A source said that the NSCN-IM and other rebel group had agreed to install statue of Isak Chishi Swu and SS Khaplang at Dimapur, which implies that the two major faction had reached an understanding towards bringing a solution to the Naga political problem.
During meeting with stakeholders NSCN (IM) leaders apprised each leadership about shared sovereignty which it was working out with the Government of India.
Q. Tuccu, a representative of the NSCN-IM was quoted by Ngaland based newspaper to have told that the ongoing talks with the Centre was inclusive of Nagas of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
The NSCN (IM) also assures the Naga stakeholders to bring up the issue of Nagas of Myanmar with the Myanmar Government after settling the issue of Nagas in the present Indian state with the GoI. The NSCN (IM) leaders also highlighted the history of the Naga political struggle.
