Manipur Governor VK Duggal, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also in-charge of state home department today left for New Delhi after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh indicated for an urgent meeting over the development in Ukhrul district.Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam left Imphal for New Delhi after attending a cabinet meeting at 2 pm today.Source from New Delhi said that the Union Home Ministry is taking dead serious about the development in Ukhrul in the last couple of days. The Union Home Minister is likely to discuss about the state government inability to contain situation in Ukhrul with the Governor, Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.It may be mentioned that the UNC and other Naga Frontal organisation had submitted memorandum for intervention of the Union government following the death of two civilians in Ukhrul town on August 30 while organising a rally for demand of speedy solution to the Indo-Naga political issues as well as for alternative arrangement for Naga Inhabited area and withdrawal of the State force from Ukhrul.State government had deployed state force in Ukhrul town following the deterioration of law and order problem in the aftermath of the killing of the Ukhrul ADC member by cadres of NSCN-IM. Around 8 cadres of the NSCN-IM were arrested from a technical camp in Ukhrul suspected to have been involved in the killing of the ADC. Fearing unwanted problem the district administration of Ukhrul town had imposed CrPC 144 since the arrest of the NSCN-IM cadres.
