Paite student’s body shocks over issuance of domicile to non local

Lamka, Aug. 18: Paite Students’ Welfare Association has expressed serious concern over the issuance of residential, Domicile and Tribe or OBC certificate to a non local by district administration authority. The student body said, “It is utterly dismayed to learn that one Rajesh Kumar son of Rambilas Sah a native of Bihar state and currently residing at Zenhang Lamka, Churachandpur town has been selected Manipur state quota under unreserved category in the recently held All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMP)-2014.”In the light of this unwanted development of forfeiting the scare state quota by a non-local candidate, the Paite students’ welfare association, the Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) general headquarters today said that issuance of residential, Domicile and Tribe or OBC certificates without meeting the existing local criteria is unethical and a matter of serious concern which can be construed as a blatant disregard of the rights of the state’s local communities.The student body said that all house owners having non-local traders as tenant or occupants shall verify their bonafid identity etc at the first place, and only those non-locals who meet the essential criteria shall be allowed to occupy on temporary rental basis.“The concerned persons and competent authority officials of Village Authorities or Government offices embroiled in this unscrupulous act without ascertaining his identity or consulting the existing law deserve condemnation, as such Village Authorities and competent officials shall not issue Permanent Residential Certificate by means but Temporary Residential Certificate after thorough and proper verification with valid documents required in this regard”, it said.The student body also draw attention of all communities and urge all sundry to be cautious and vigilant on issue related to identity, culture, right on land and resources, etc to safeguard the constitutional rights of the tribal people as enshrined in the Indian constitution.
