At least two persons were dead, another seriously injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a Tata super ACE vehicle. The deceased along with the injured were in the Tata Super ACE vehicle which collided with the passenger bus. The tragic accident occurred at Nambol Oinam near Thambalmarik College along the Tiddim road at around 7.00 am today morning. The deceased has been identified as Gurumayum Kala (45) and his brother Gurumayum Geet (34) son of G. Gunamani of Nongmeibung Seram Leirak. The injured person has been identified as Gurumayum Athouba (14) son of the deceased Gurumayum Kala. He has been undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital and Research Institute.According to reports, the tragic accident occurred when the Tata Super ACE bearing registration number MN-06L 6524 which came towards Moirang from Imphal collided with a Churanchandpur- Imphal bound passenger bus bearing registration number MN 01 – 1569 which came towards Imphal near Thambalmarik College, Nambol. The two brothers along with the 14 years old son were in the same ill fated vehicle. Both the brothers died on the spot while the son sustained serious injury.The dead bodies were deposited at RIMS morgue.
