Indigenous Peoples Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) today observed its 2nd foundation day at its office located at Waheng Leikai.
Sapamcha Jadumani, President of IPAK said that the association was established to save the indigenous people of the state in 2014 and to also to safeguard the integrity of the state.
On the present movement for ILPS demand in the state Jadumani said that it was an organisation called “Friends”  which had first alerted the danger of the indigenous people due to the influx of outsider some 8 years back.
However after JCILPS comes up with the similar demand FRIENDS was abolished in 2013 inorder to avoid confusion among the people of the state.
Jadumani further said that at the time when FRIENDS launched agitation for re-introduction ILPS in Manipur there was no differences between any communities as the demand was to introduce the similar system that is enforce at Nagaland, Mizoram and other state.
But as the demand is now a demand for ILPS related Bills all sorts of controversy arises leading to the death of 9 people at Churachandpur.
Even as Sapamcha Jadumani is the person who headed the organisation FRIENDS and demanded immediate introduction of ILPS, he have different opinion on the putting up of the demand. He said it is no use demanding new legislation as it would invite chaos in the state but if it is the same ILPS being enforced at neighbouring state then there will be consensus among the various communities of the state.
