DM Science students threaten to stay away I-Day

General Secretary of D.M. College of Science Students’ Union today threatened the concern authority that the students of the college will not take part in the observation of Independence Day if the Government do not fulfills the demands of the Students’ Union of the college by 12 of August, 2014.In a press meet held today at the office of D.M. College of Science Students’ Union, Pradeepkumar Laishram, General Secretary of the union said that besides being a premier college D.M. College is now a Deam University. However, the infrastructure of the college is still in pathetic condition. He said that the students’ union has approached the concern authorities of the state including Chief Minister, Education Minister and Works Minister regarding this. However, the government has not responding with the demands of the students.Pradeepkumar further said that with the increase of 50 seats in 1st semester, the total number of students of the college in 1st semester is 700. However, due to lack of furniture and other infrastructures classes have been suspended frequently. Besides, the eastern gate of the college is in a condition that may collapse any time. The fencing of the college is also not up to quality. He also drew the attention of the government to shift the Tata Magic Parking from the eastern gate of the college as the noise of the parking caused inconvenience to the students.
