Residence and brick farm of Laishram Ibomcha (50) s/o Bira Singh, of Khoirom Ataobung Keithel, who is allegedly the main accused in the killing of Lourembam Ongbi Ranjita of Yairipok Khoirom were burnt today by an angry mob at Yairipok Khoiram.A large number of people of Yairipok Khoirom today took the lifeless body of Lourembam Ongbi Ranjita away from JNIMS morgue to perform last rite. The angry people stormed at the residence of Ibomcha located at Yairipok Khoirom in the afternoon when they returned to Khoirom with the lifeless body of Lourembam Ongbi Ranjita. Soon after the people reached the residence of Ibomcha they burnt the house of the accused. Besides this another mob dismantled and burnt Ibomcha’s brick farm located at Ningel Kha Khong Maril Mana Loukol.It may be mentioned here that the JAC against the brutal killing of Ranjita has been demanding to arrest the accused in the killing since the next day she was found dead at her field located at Ningel Kha Khong Maril Mana Loukol.
