Thoubal College students stage protest

Thoubal,June 11:  Students of Thoubal College today begin sit-in-protest inside the college complex decrying government failure to fulfil the demand of the students. The students of Thoubal college has been demanding repairing of the college infrastructure and regarding that memorandums has been submitted to the concern department time and again.
Speaking to reporters, General Secretary of Thoubal College Students’ Union, O Arjun said that the Dr. RK Yaikul, Director of Higher Education had assured to repair the college main gate, separate toilets for male and female students and fencing of the college compound on March 9 this year while meeting the Union along with the Principal of the College O Chaoba. As the government authority had assured the students’ body had called off the class boycott agitation. As the commitments were not converted into action the student Union had served another ultimatum on May 28 to the concern department to convert the assurances into action within 10 of this month. As no step has been taken up the student union resume the protest from today said the general secretary.
