AMUCO observes 17th Integrity Day

Imphal, Aug 4: All Manipur United Clubs’ Organization (AMUCO) today observed 17th  Manipur Integrity Day recalling the mass rally held on August 4, 1997 to save the integrity of Manipur.The day is observed at MDU Hall, Yaiskul Police Lane. As a part of the observance, members of the AMUCO paid floral tribute at Integrity Pillar near Pologround in the morning.President AMUCO Y. Mani Khuman, Chief Advisor, Th Iboyaima, Y Maipak Chothe, Chothe Tribe Union Manipur, Dh. Gaikhemmei, Chairman, Z.U. ANM (Imphal Zone), Y. Yaima Maring, President, EDAHCO Phunan Maring, Areng Zatak Chiru, Chiru Tribe Union Manipur, L. Memchoubi, President Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, Prof. Rose Mangshi Haokip, President Kuki Women Union Manipur, Atongpi Kamei, Vice President Kabui Mothers’ Association Manipur and KT Rahman Advior of AMUCO attended as presidium members.Speakers on the occasion recalls on how the people of the state had reacted to the move for distorting the unity of the state territorial integrity. The mass rally of August 4, 1997 which was attended by over 4 lacs people was a warning to the central government indicating that people of the state would stand united any attempt to distort the unity of the state.
