Imphal, July 24: The ongoing Assembly session today passed 7 more demands for grant of rupees 609,66,54,000/- amidst cut motion by opposition MLAs.

A sum of rupees 342,10,08,000/- was passed today as grant for the Medical, Health and Family Welfare service after the opposition MLAs withdrew the cut motion. During the demand discussion MLA Th. Shyamkumar and MLA Ibomcha moved policy cut motion on various account including the department’s failure to implement the NRHM scheme properly. In his policy cut motion MLA Th Shyam kumar raise the issue for encroachment and construction of private shops inside the premises of the community health care centre of Yairipok. He also said that concern authority’s inaction and seriously over the issue has resulted in the failure for providing basic health care service to the people.

MLA Ibomcha while moving the policy cut motion shows serious concern over the reengagement of retired employees in the Medical Department. He said the department still fail to provide sufficient number of Ambulances in Govt. Hospitals, especially in the Urban and Hill areas. He also blame the department for failure to install serviceable scientific & sophisticated medical equipments in the Govt. Hospitals, thereby compelling the poor & needy patients to undergo their investigation in the private hospital.

Demand for grants passed for the Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development  is rupees 149,72,24,000/-. MLA Dr. Ibohalbi, MLA, L Ibomcha, MLA Th. Shyamkumar and MLA Kh Joykishan moved policy cut motion on account of improper and unplanned drainage system in Imphal city; failure to provide allotment in first floor of New Market, Purana Bazaar, Luxmi bazaar and Emoinu Keithel; inability to allow women handloom vendors sell their products mention in their trade card; inability to collect taxes according to the number of floors constructed; inability to complete drain constructed under JnNURM in Imphal areas, especially in Keishamthong assembly constituency and lack of proper policy for collection and disposal of Garbage within the Imphal City.    

Other demands passed today were rupees 18,00,26,000/- for Co-Operation, rupees 40,19,81,000/- for administration of justice, rupees 5,59,59,000/- for the Stationery and printing, rupees 5,98,95,000/- for the Science and Technology and a sum of rupees 8,05,61,000/- for the Information and Technology.
