No further land acquisition in Tiddim road

Imphal, July 24: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today said that the government has no further plan for acquisition of more land for widening of Tiddim road. Replying to a calling attention motion moved by MLA L Ibomcha, the Chief Minister said that various unsettle problem between the owners of the land along the Tiddim road has hampered the road widening work. He said many have been reported to be left out for payment of compensation and for that matter the government has been conducting re-verification. As for the disputed land, the government has been considering to deposit the compensation amount to the court so, that the amount could be paid after court spell out the verdict. The Chief Minister further appealed the house owner to construct their houses 10 feet from the road.
