JAC formed against ILPS Bills to organise mass prayers on Dec 9; complets 100 days of protest

Churachandpur, Dec 8: The ongoing agitation against the 3 ILPS related Bills in the Manipur Legislative Assembly by a committee called the Joint Action Committer Against Anti-Tribal Bills is completing 100 days on December 9. On the occasion the committee appealed the tribal people of the state to organise mass prayers at their respective areas.
A statement said that the committee will organise a mass prayers at Lamka Public Ground, Hiangtam Lamka, Churachandpur from 12 noon onwards on the December 9.  The decision to organise the mass prayer was resolved in a consultative meeting of the JAC.
“To mark the 100th days of our protest against the injustice meted out to the tribal people and the persistent prejudice and indifference of Manipur government towards their plight, we urge the tribal brethrens across the tribal territories of Manipur to organise a similar mass prayers in their respective districts”, said a statement of the JAC.
In an appeal, the JAC said that “this will be a time to pay homage to our nine tribal martyrs, a time to introspect and thank the Almighty for having led us thus far and also a time to humble ourselves while
seeking the Lord’s forgiveness for any misdeeds and cry out for His help to heal our land”.
Further, the JAC appeals to all tribal to light candles outside their respective homes between 6:00pm to 7:00pm on the night of December 9, as a mark of honour to the supreme sacrifices made by nine tribal martyrs.
