India Govt. interlocutor RN Ravi holds meeting with Manipur’s CSOs

 ‘Talks with the NSCN-IM going on, don’t have any idea about 3 states demands by NSCN-IM’

Peace negotiator, RN Ravi, who is also the Interlocutor to India Government for the ongoing talk with the NSCN-IM today arrived in the state and hold meeting with the leaders of the Civil Society Organizations.
Speaking to reporters, soon after his arrival at Imphal Tulihal Airport, RN Ravi said that he came here to hold talk with the representatives of the Civil Society Organisations of the state.
“I have come here to have consultation with the Civil Society, I have already consulted some of them and consulting them is an ongoing process”, Ravi said.
On being asked about the first round of talk that is expected after the signing of the August 3 pact, Ravi said that talk has been on. When asked about the NSCN-IM’s prepared proposal for demand of three states in Naga areas to be governed by the NSCN-IM, the Indian Interlocutor said that there are no such demands and he did not know where such matter has come out.
Base on a leaked document, Imphal Times had earlier reported that the NSCN-IM is preparing to propose three state formulas for Naga region by carving out portion of territory from Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur and by letting intact the present Nagaland. This newspaper had also reported that the NSCN-IM is demanding restoration of the land from Assam to Nagas or payment of compensation for the land allegedly occupied by the Assam Government.
On being asked about the charter of demands which has been submitted by the Civil Society organizations during his last visit, Ravi told that when there is a conversation going on and there is no fix position but understand each other.
“When we converse with each other we don’t have a fix position, but we have to understand each other, because much of the problem comes out of misunderstanding”, RN Ravi said. 
Later at 2 pm today, leaders of 2 major Apex bodies of Manipur’s Civil Society Organisation – the All Manipur United Club Organisations (AMUCO) and the United Committee Manipur (UCM) held a meeting with RN Ravi at Hotel Classic Grande. Speaking to this journalist before meeting the Indian interlocutor, AMUCO’s General Secretary Phurailatpam Devan said that they will not submit any memorandum to RN Ravi but will talk about the charter of demands they had already submitted to him during his last visit. The civil society leaders who met the Indian interlocutor are UCM president Elangbam Johnson, AMUCO President, Dr. Y Khuman and UCM General Secretary YK Dhiren among others.
Source also stated that Ravi also met the Hill based civil society organization.
