HM reaffirms govt. Stands against NSCN-IM; says 8 more are on the hit list of the outfit

Imphal, July 15: Reaffirming the government’s tough stand against the crime committed by the NSCN-IM, Home Minister Gaikhangam today said that the government will no longer tolerate to the various form of crime committed by the outfit.

“We have tolerated long and we can no longer tolerate such activities of the out”, said Gaikhangam while replying to a calling attention motion moved by MLA I. Ibohalbi in connection with the killing of the Ukhrul ADC member Ngalangzar.

The Home Minister further said that 8 more people of the state are in the hit list of the NSCN-IM as according to the report of the state intelligence department. He said all preparation for safety of the 8 people has been taken up by the government.

Earlier moving the calling attention motion, MLA I. Ibohalbi drew the attention of the house and seeks clarification from the state Home Minister on what the government has been doing all these year even though there were informal information about the presence of various camp of the NSCN-IM.

The outfit has been ensuing peace talk with the government of India and is in cease fire with the army, but the cease fire is limited to the state of Nagaland, said Dr. Ibohalbi.

Ibohalbi further drew the attention of the house to let the people know about the progress of the ongoing peace talk between the government of India and the NSCN-IM. He further said that killing of Ukhrul district ADC is not the first of its kind. There has been various attacked committed by the outfit. Giving example, Ibohalbi said that former Chief Minister of Manipur Seiza was assassinated by the NSCN-IM and later the outfit had also attempted to killed MLA Wungnaosung Keishing and also Preso Shimray.

He said the government should urge the central government for declaring the NSCN-IM as unlawful organisation.
