Manipur Postal Division observes ‘Mail Day’

On the third day of National Postal Week, Manipur Postal Division today celebrates “Mail Day” at its office premises.  As part of the observance, more than 15 articles were booked under speed post for different destinations while 20 speed post parcels dispatched from Imphal HPO.
In a press statement, superintendent of post offices also Director of Manipur Postal Division Vinod Kumar said, though today was an off day, a special arrangement was made in Imphal HPO with a speed post booking counter for the facilitation of the customers. The released further said, many a times people face difficulties since post office being closed on Sundays, but today, though it was raining heavily, many customers came and book for articles.
In connection with this week long celebration Vinod Kumar organized a tree plantation drive in Imphal HPO compound and planted a number of trees. Speaking on the occasion Kumar explained that we are eating fruits of the trees planted by our forefathers so now it’s our responsibility to sow and take care of trees so that they bear fruits and new generation will enjoy those fruits, the statement reads.
It may be mentioned that the division celebrates its second day with the theme “Saving Bank Day”. With to spread awareness about the importance of various useful saving schemes and insurance available at Post Offices in Manipur among newly recruited police personals, a special programme was organised at Manipur Police Training College, Pangei.
More than 400 newly recruited police personals and sub-inspector trainees from the college attended in the program.
