Another committee likely to relook over the case of withheld SI/Jemandar

Imphal, July 10: Following tremendous political pressure from some MLAs and Ministers, the state Home Ministry is likely to institute another committee to relook into the matter at which 87 selected SI and Jemandar were reportedly placed withheld after one man commission led by T. Pachua, IPS, ADGP (Home Guard) had conducted an enquiry. The enquiry was instituted by the state government after alleged report of misappropriation in the selection process.All together 440 candidates were selected for recruitment to Sub inspector and Jemandar to the state Police force in 2010. Earlier the State Home department had notified for recruitment of 347 Sub inspector and Jemandar however, for reason best known the then home department authority had selected 440 candidate. However, as there were report of massive misappropriation to the selection process the Home Department has instituted a one man enquiry commission to look into the matter under T. Pachua, IPS, ADGP (Home Guard). And on July 10, as according to the report of the enquiry commission Additional; Secretary of the state Home Department, Bobby Waikhom had intimated the DGP Manipur to withhold the 87 selected candidates.However, as the state home department is receiving tremendous pressure from some MLAs and Ministers for cancellation of the enquiry report, the Home Ministry has been reportedly directed to institute another enquiry committee to look into the matter.Mention may be made that Imphal Times had break the news story about the withheld of the 87 selected SI and Jemandar in its July 4 issue.
