State Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing has appealed the nurse community in the state to serve the patients and to create a friendly health sector.
Speaking to the inaugural function of the 2-day-long nursing national seminar at the convention hall of College of Nursing today, the minister said that words, service and conduct of nurses is a medicine to patients. Without their service a patient could not recuperate automatically.
Nurses are the real caretakers, without their professional service and sacrifices the health sector could never create a favorable atmosphere for patients. Doctors only prescribe medicine for patients and the rest is up to the nurses, he said while appreciating the service rendered by nurses.
More than 12,000 nurses are working in the state, said Dr O Ibomcha Health Director, who also attended the function, and he expressed the need to develop the medical infrastructure and better health facilities in the state.
