Manipur is Proud to Host G20 Events as well the G20 pavilion at the Sangai Festival : Chief Minister N. Biren Singh

As the 11th edition of the Sangai Festival begins in Manipur from the 21st to 30th November, the Hafta Kanjeibung Ground in Imphal will also host a G20 India pavilion during the entirety of the festival.
In line with the Prime Minister’s direction to not limit G20 to major urban cities and use the opportunity to showcase India’s rich and diverse cultural landscape, Manipur’s famous Sangai Festival too will get an additional international flavour as India’s most prestigious multilateral event will showcase India’s rich cultural diversity to the world.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh welcomed the idea of not only hosting G20 meetings in Manipur but also the G20 pavilion at the Sangai Festival and said that the G20 pavilion will provide an opportunity to all visitors to learn about the importance of India’s G20 Presidency and Manipur is proud to host G20.
According to sources in the know, on the 26th of November, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar along with the Minister of State for External Affairs Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh are likely to visit the G20 pavilion as well as the take a tour of Sangai Festival at Moirang Khunou.
The G20 pavilion at the Sangai Festival will provide educational content for the youth on the importance and significance of India’s G20 Presidency in the form of video displays and IEC materials which will be made available to visitors to the pavilion.
Imphal is also set to host important G20 meetings in April 2023 with delegations from all G20 countries and partner International Institutions. This is set to be important opportunity for Manipur to showcase its cultural diversity and natural beauty to a large section of global audiences.
At a curtain raiser event for the launch of Sangai Festival on the 15th of November, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh had declared that “We want to make Sangai a festival of oneness in order to strengthen the bond among all communities and showcase them for the tourists visiting during the festival. Boosting tourism in Manipur will be the biggest focus of the festival this time.”
