Imphal, August 02:

The All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) is observing the 25th Manipur Integrity Day on the 4th of August 2022 with all the different communities of Manipur, stated a release of the Secretary Publicity AMUCO. Recalling the over 5 lakh people historic march of 4 August 1997 wherein the People of Manipur stood as ONE MAN against the aggressive policy of India for the balkanization of Manipur, the release reminded the over two millennia old political sovereignty of Manipur which culminated with India’s annexation of Manipur in 1949.
The People of Manipur have ceaselessly been opposing every sinister design of the Government of India to disintegrate the emotional and territorial integrity of Manipur by deploying the divide and rule policy of the erstwhile British regime since India’s takeover of Manipur, stated the release. The release also outlined the political independence of Manipur on 14 August 1947 from the then British suzerainty and the ongoing Manipur People’s Struggle to regain her lost sovereignty which has been in very similar line to India’s freedom struggle from the colonial British Rule.
The inclusion of the territorial areas of Manipur in the ongoing infamous GOI-NSCN(IM) Peace Talk has been a clear example for the evil geopolitical strategy of the Government of India in reducing Manipur into a tiny footprint on the global political map, asserted the release. The release further stated that this year’s observance of the 25th Manipur Integrity Day would commence by offering tribute at the Manipur Integrity Pillar, located near Manipur State Museum, and culminate with all Manipur ethnic communities at the Community Hall, Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
