With the last day of registration for Agnipath approaching, Khungang Chaokhat Lup, Heigrujam successfully organised a one-day awareness program on Agnipath in coordination with the 16th Assam Rifles battalion. Around 170 aspirants and family members attended the programmed at Keithelmanbi Headquarters auditorium which started as 3 pm yesterday.
The 3 and half hours program comprised videos and verbal explanations on Agnipath recruitment and related question-answer sessions. Major Abhimanyu, Commanding Officer of Maibam Lokpa Ching battalion briefed the participants on the details and information of the ongoing pre-test training sessions which is happening every day starting 6 am for an hour at the Keithelmanbi battalion. He also emphasized on 3rd of August as the last day for registration. Major Abhimanyu further stated that after 4 years of service, an Agniveer would be honoured as preferential recruitment in the state police force, and 16 other defense public sectors like Hindustan Aeronautic Limited, Bharat Electronics, Bharat Earth Movers Limited etc.
Also, 10% vacancy in Assam Rifles and other Central Armed Police Forces would be reserved for the Agniveers. Maj Abhimanyu also briefed about the relaxation and bonus marks for NCC certificate holders, sportspersons, and family members of servicemen and war veterans. The program was also attended by representatives of Village Level Federation under the guidance of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission representing 15 different Women Self Help Groups from Nambol and Konthoujam Constituencies with MSRLM Cluster Coordinator, Barun Naorem, Block Resource Trainer, Maibam Cherpheen and Social Activist Kavita Hijam. Apart from the infrastructures, meeting Hall and refreshments, pickup and drop for all the participants was organised by Assam Rifles Headquarter Battalion at Keithelmanbi.
