12 cadres of various NSCN factions including NSCN-IM surrendered to Assam Rifles

After 2 cadres of the NSCN-IM surrendered to Assam Rifles in Arunachal Pradesh a day after Athuan Abonmai was brutally murdered in Tamenglong district of Manipur , 10 more underground cadres from various NSCN factions surrendered to the Assam Rifles in Longding a day ahead of Gandhi Jayanti.
On September 23, two active cadres of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) surrendered to Assam Rifles in Arunachal Pradesh.
A report said that the NSCN-IM cadres surrendered at Laju and Sanliam Villages in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Following this, on October 1, a day ahead of Gandhi Jayanti Four self-styled cadres of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Unification (NSCN) (U), two of NSCN (Reformation) and one each of NSCN(K-Yung Aung), NSCN (IM), NSCN (K), and Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG), surrendered before the security forces, as per a report by the North East Today.
The report said that Ten active cadres of various underground outfits surrendered before the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Longding Police in Arunachal Pradesh, on September 30.
Four self-styled cadres of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Unification (NSCN) (U), two of NSCN (Reformation) and one each of NSCN (K-Yung Aung), NSCN (IM), NSCN (K), and Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG), surrendered before the security forces.
The militants also surrendered various arms and ammunition to the security forces in an effort to join the mainstream and the peace process.
“The cadres surrendered five weapons and other ammunition. The cadres have also appealed to their fellow cadres to give up violence and lead a normal life,” a statement from the Assam Rifles read.
