House to House Election Campaign of Oinam Romen Singh, the Intending Candidate of Singjamei Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming State General Assembly Elections 2022 on NPP Ticket kick started this morning from Mayengbam Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur. This is the second campaign. Earlier, the Campaign was started from his Home Polling Station on the 19th of September this year.
Initiating his Campaign with a large number of his supporters, Romen Singh said that he will contest the Election with a special thrust to the youths and women of the Constituency. The youths of the Constituency remain jobless due to the failure of implementing different government policies meant for the welfare of the youths. He will take up various policies, if voted to power, for giving jobs to the youths of the Constituency so that the youths can be self-reliant and not economically dependent on others. He will make known to the youths that only government jobs are not the jobs for their livelihood. The youths will be nurtured to become entrepreneurs of their own so that they will become job giver, not job seeker. Only when they are self reliant, development will be there automatically, he noted.
Romen further stated that there are no proper policies of the women of the Constituency for their earning as of now despite having skills in different fields. Taking up initiatives relevant to their skilful activities is the need of the hour, he added.
He said that he has been taking up various activities for the youths and women of the Constituency for the last seven years. He initiated the Widows’ Pension Scheme, Pension Schemes for the Differently Abled Persons and Meritorious Awards for students. He organised Football Tournaments. Football Coaching Classes had also been organised for grooming up young players so on and so forth.
He further stated that he wants to take up various initiatives further for the welfare and upliftment of the youths and women of the Constituency but faces a lot of restraints of being a layman but needs to become a representative of the Constituency to take further cause in this regard, he contended.
Replying to queries raised by media persons while he chose the Political Party – NPP, he said that NPP is the only Political Party which gives special thrust to youths and women. If voted to power with the Party ticket, he can do everything he desires for the welfare of the youths and women, he added.
