Month long celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2021 was concluded today at Khongman zone 4 SWC community hall today. The closing function was organized by Khongman zone 1 to 5 Anganwadi workers, Helpers and Mini workers in collaboration with ICDS Cell project Imphal East –II, Keirao Bitra.
RD and PR Minister Th Biswajit expressed that Jan Andolan is the word that is used all over India. Poshan Maah is one of Prime Minister Modi flagship programmes and highlights the importance and role of the right nutrition for the human body. A balanced diet with a combination of essential nutrients and calories is pivotal for the smooth working and growth of the human body.
The Poshan Maah is celebrated during the month of September every year to encourage the masses to join hands with the government in addressing issues related to malnutrition amongst children and women, and to ensure health and nutrition for everyone.
Minister Th Biswajit expressed that PM Modi aims to provide ‘Housing for All’ by 2022.PMAY-G aims at providing housing to all the houseless households and those households living in dilapidated house.
Minister Th Biswajit maintained that the State Government is fully committed in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s dream of New India, where every citizen of the country will have a house with basic amenities and to get free electricity. Local body club, Anganwadi Workers and helpers have a role to give awareness programmes at the local level to make a better society for the future.
RD and PR Minister distributed notebooks and pencils to the children and appealed that the ICDS leaftlet to print in three languages Meitei Mayak, Bengali and Roman English so that the young generation can read.
During the closing ceremony Oinam Rashesori, CDPO ICDS expressed that the main objective for this years’ celebration is the tracing and identification of SAM (Seven Acute Malnutrition) Children and plantation drive for promotion of kitchen gardens at all AWCs (Community land and at homes). Due to the covid-19 pandemic, this year the programme is celebrated sector-wise.
The programme was attended M Nungshirei Devi, Pardhan Khongman Gram Panchayat, Oinam Rashesori, CDPO ICDS, Th Momotombi, Supervisor ICDS, S Sunita, Ward Member, N Kiranbala, Ward Member and Seram Khogen (Gogo), Ward Member.
